Hello! I’m Katsutomo Shiibara, though most people call me Katsu.
I’m an educator, actor, and National Government Licensed Guide-Interpreter based in Tokyo.
Through language, culture, and expression, I hope to help people connect more naturally with Japan — and with each other.
My background includes studying at Oita University, spending a year in New York through a Japanese government-funded theater training program, and teaching communication and self-expression through theater at a Tokyo metropolitan high school for 15 years.
I have also performed in more than 50 stage productions and led communication and expression workshops across Japan for companies, schools, and communities.
My lessons focus not only on learning Japanese, but also on understanding culture, communication, and natural expression.
Whether your interest is conversation, travel, culture, business, or self-expression, I’d be happy to create lessons that match your goals and interests.
I look forward to connecting with people from around the world through language, culture, and shared experiences.
